Biography:

Dave-Hermans-Pic.pngDavid Hermans - Coming from an economics and accounting academic background, Dave obtained his accounting designation (CPA, CA). Diverse roles in auditing entrepreneurial, owner-managed businesses, in sock manufacturing, licensing and merchandising, news media, NGO’s and small business consulting to start-ups, logistics and legal services eventually led Dave to renewable energy. Over the past 15 years he has performed accounting, finance, analyst, project management, first nations relations, contract negotiations, due diligence and acquisitions and market building roles for various private and public companies including domestic start-ups and international players.

Having negotiated, acquired or divested of multiple projects across the Maritimes, Quebec, Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia, Dave has had success (and failure) in hydro, wind, solar, geothermal and biogas technologies. Participating in procurements and lobbying efforts for federal, provincial, and municipal contracts he has seen how equity sponsors, senior debt and public interests can come together successfully and how they can remain at odds.

With experience at small start-ups such as Current Generation and Ventus Energy, at large international balance-sheet players such as SUEZ, Engie (GDF-SUEZ), International Power, Invenergy and Acciona you can ask me about internal financing and approvals, equity sponsor risk profiles and risk assessments, infrastructure project evaluations, mergers and acquisitions, participation in procurement processes and developing projects by “knocking your head against the wall until the wall falls over”.

Dave speaks Spanish, lived in Mexico and enjoys its different cuisines and tequilas. A lover of a good Dad joke or a fun pun Dave learned to put on hockey skates and gear at 34 and is still trying to learn how to play to this day.


Bruce-Gray-Pic.jpgBruce Gray - Bruce has 25 years of experience delivering complex infrastructure projects in the public and private sectors. He joined Infrastructure Ontario in 2006 leading some of IO’s first P3 Healthcare projects including Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, Bridgepoint Health, and Bluewater Health. Bruce has also lead a number of projects in the justice sector. Since 2017 Bruce has been managing the healthcare division of Project Delivery at Infrastructure Ontario where projects include Etobicoke General Hospital, CAMH and St Michael’s Hospital. Bruce’s experience prior to joining Infrastructure Ontario includes capital project work in the private sector with SNC Lavalin Pharma, Hemosol Inc. and Xerox Corporation.
