Synopsis:

Interested in being a project manager in healthcare?

This webinar brings participants an opportunity to learn about what it means to be a PM in a healthcare setting. In this session our panelists will walk participants through what it means to transition into healthcare as a PM as well as how to deliver across various projects dealing with IM/IT implementation, operations, and process management. Wrapping up the session, participants will be given an opportunity for open discussion with the panelists.

Learning Objectives:

• Share insights into what the day-in-the-life looks like for a PM in healthcare
• Share successful approaches to transition into healthcare project management and what that might look like
• Discuss the Project Managers lived experience applying PM methodology and approaches across common project types including (but not limited to): (1) IM/IT implementation, (2) operations and (3) process management
• Identifying common challenges encountered by PMs in healthcare

Cindy Beloff-Draycott

Executive Vice President, Prism Eye Institute

Cindy Draycott has over thirty years of experience in the healthcare field. She holds the designation of Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS-CA) and is a Certified Health Executive through the Canadian College of Health Services Executives. Cindy is also a Health Records Professional with the Canadian Health Information Management Association. Additionally, she obtained an Executive MBA from Athabasca University in Alberta, focusing her thesis on the topic of "Electronically Connecting the Care Providers in the Community." Notably, her thesis secured substantial grants for Innovation in Information Technology from Health Canada and the OHA Change Foundation.
Throughout her career, Cindy has held leadership positions in both clinical and non-clinical portfolios. She has excelled in spearheading strategic and inter-organizational initiatives, including endeavors in technology implementation, Health Information Management, senior-level consulting, and performance management.
Currently, Cindy is Executive Vice President at Prism Eye Institute and actively contributes to the Ontario Chapter of HIMSS where she serves as an Officer and Board member, holding the role of Treasurer.

Carina Andreatta

Program Manager, PMO, Analytics & Telemedicine Office, St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton

Carina is currently the Program Manager of the Project Management Office (PMO) and Analytics departments at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton. She holds an Honours Specialization in Health Sciences and a Minor in Psychology from Western University and an MSc in eHealth from McMaster University, a Big Data Analytics certification from York University, a PMP certification and is Prosci Change Management Certified.

Tasia Stanois

Project Manager II, Unity Health Toronto

Tasia Stanois is a project management professional with seven years of experience in the healthcare industry. In her current role as IT Project Manager III at Unity Health Toronto, she is able to establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders while leading a variety of projects that support and improve patient care. Tasia recently completed her Masters of Business Administration from Lazaridis School of Business and Economics and obtained her Project Management Professional designation in 2020.

John Ling

Corporate Project Manager, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre

John Ling is a project management professional with 10+ years of experience in the Healthcare IT environment. His experience ranges from technical to clinical transformation projects. Through the implementation of technical solutions he hopes to support health care delivery for patients, families and staff resulting in better health outcomes in the community.

Andrew Schroen

Andrew is a health informatics professional on Deloitte’s Digital Care team focusing on large-scale Clinical Information System (CIS) implementations and clinical transformations for hospital systems. He possesses over ten years of professional experience in healthcare consulting, project managing and academics focusing on leveraging digital health solutions to drive change and improve health outcomes.
Prior to joining Deloitte, Andrew held the position of Project Director, Information Management/ Information Technology (IM/IT) at Women’s College Hospital where he liaised with multiple teams and stakeholders to deliver detailed project plans woven with structural change management processes at the project and organizational level.
He holds a Master of Health Informatics (MHI) from the University of Toronto (UofT) and is a certified Change Management Practitioner (Prosci) and Project Management Professional (PMP).

Edward Draycott

Edward holds a BCom (Hons) from UOIT, an MSc from the University of Liverpool, as well as the Certified Associate in Health Information and Management Systems (CAHIMS) designation, Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) designation and ITIL designation.
Edward started his project management career working in the marketing industry, quickly working his way up to coordinating nationwide projects for the Canadian Division of a Fortune 500 Company. Since then, Edward transitioned into the Healthcare industry where he currently utilizes the same project management skills to implement digital workflows and clinical applications as Solution Specialist/Project Lead, eHealth Operations in the Information Services department at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Edward also serves as Vice Chair of PMI Toronto’s Healthcare Branch.
