The Real Reason Projects Fail

Business Acumen

Synopsis:

Have you experienced project failure? When you reflect on what happened, what conclusions did you draw - if any? Did you do anything different the next time? These are age-old project management problems that are not going away any time soon. In this unique presentation, Ricardo Young (Dr. Rico), an expert in why projects fail, questions the traditional interpretation of project failure and introduces a new lens through which project failure can be viewed, with an emphasis on macro-level risk management. What is more, you will be shown a practical paradigm that can help you mitigate the terrible consequences of project failure that you can apply to your projects right away.

Learning Outcomes:

  • A critique of the traditional view of project management
  • A presentation of the root cause of ALL project failure - chaos!
  • A demonstration that there is a poor understanding of the real reason projects fail
  • An introduction to a new project management model or paradigm to reduce the risk of project failure
