Synopsis:

Join us for an engaging event on Risk Assessment and Awareness. David Shaw will present on encouraging a risk mentality and integrating risk management into project management.

Learn the basics of risk assessment, including risk identification, classification, and the use of Probability-Impact (PI) scores. Key themes include developing a risk mindset, overcoming objections to risk management, and incorporating risk management strategies into your projects.

David Shaw is a Project Management Professional and an expert in Critical Infrastructure Protection with over 20 years of experience in project management. 

At Calian Technologies, David served as the practice manager for content management systems, including the development of a technical documentation system for the F117 stealth fighter in the USA. He then became the Director of Project Delivery at Kontentsu Corp and later the Director of Research and Development at Eedo Knowledgeware. In 2008, following the financial crisis, he began working as an independent consultant.

David was trained in the RCMP/CSIS methodology for Harmonized Threat Risk Assessment. His risk management expertise includes developing business continuity plans for the Bank of Canada and disaster recovery plans for the RCMP. Most recently, he developed a business continuity plan for a machine learning application at CBSA, spanning AWS and Azure clouds. Today, David integrates risk management into his project management approach.
