Event Cancellation and Refund Policy
Purpose and scope:
This document captures the policy for cancellations and refunds for members and non-members concerning PMI Toronto in-person and virtual programs and events. This policy applies unless exceptions are explicitly stated on the registration page of any event via the PMI Toronto website.
Policy:
PMI Toronto is committed to providing quality event programming for our members and community. In order to continue providing events and ensure that all resources are being utilized effectively, the following policy applies to both online and in-person events.
1. If a registrant chooses to cancel attending their event, the cancellation request must be sent via the PMI Toronto contact form on the FAQ and Contact page.
2. Unless specifically stated on the event details page, the cancellation deadline and refund are as follows:
In-Person Events:
Cancellations for in-person events must be submitted by 5:00 PM, five business days before the event. A 30% administrative fee will be deducted from the refund amount to cover logistical expenses and capacity pricing considerations. No refunds will be provided for no-shows.
Online/Virtual Events:
To receive a full refund, cancellation requests must be submitted by 5:00 PM at least two business days before the event. Refunds will not be issued for cancellations made within two business days of the event or for no-shows.
3. If PMI Toronto cancels an event, registered participants will be notified of the cancellation via an email broadcast. All registered participants will be refunded 100% of their registration fee.
4. Rescheduled events: Notifications of rescheduled events will be communicated via email directly to registered participants. Participants will receive a 100% refund due to the change. To attend the rescheduled event, interested participants must register anew, as previous registrations do not automatically transfer. This policy ensures that PMI Toronto does not assume participants’ availability for the new event date and time.
5. Transferring Registrations - You may elect to transfer the registration to another person. Please complete the contact form and provide details of the person receiving the registration so we may process the request.
